Echoes of the Canal

Immersed in shifting silence and shadow, the etchings from the “Echoes of the Canal” series transport the viewer to an allegorical Venice — a city of reflections, illusions, and memory. There is no direct image of water, yet each figure seems mirrored, blurred, and woven into the fabric of time and dream.

The characters appear to be composed of architecture, old legends, and fragile flesh. They resemble ancient frescoes brought to life in a gothic canal dream. Each figure is both human and monument, both ornament and ghost, enclosed in an oval niche — like a cameo or a stained-glass fragment.
